2D Creative problems
Throughout
my project I had drawn out many initial ideas my personal favourite being the
10 slipknot ones. I drew these on
Photoshop using the Wacom pens and bored and the brush tool. I feel I was
pretty successful in these tools because if you look through my blog you’ll be
able to see these for yourself. Drawing helped formulate my idea because it was
making the idea of the mosh more concrete and drawing the Slipknot ones gave me the idea to stem from slipknot to other metal bands such as Bullet for my valentine or Amon
Amarth.
3D creative Problems
When
doing my models I used drawings to think about the placement of each indent or
where to place the eyes and mouth. The research I conducted was finding a
decent Vol. 3 ‘The Subliminal Verses’ Mask to help me place all the
stitching and the mouth hole and eye holes. We used the terracotta clay to make
this mask whilst to make Mr.7’s mask we used air-drying clay. Personally I
preferred the terracotta clay because with the air drying clay we were under a
limit to design it before it dries. We had to wedge the terracotta clay to get
rid of all the air. And we had to keep wetting them both so they didn’t dry
out. Evaluation for solving time-based creative problems:
Drawing and designing a 3D model of levels helped me because I was able to figure out where I wanted things to be placed like bosses or Easter eggs. The research I done helped me to understand which made a good platform game and a bad one. The software used throughout this project was Construct 2 to actually make the game and Photoshop to design the characters and things. I had only one problem learning construct I had troubles understanding it all it and still find it difficult.
