Mould/Clay models

This is the mould we made using the liquid latex ^^
Here is the model with the base layer ^^

This is what the air drying model looked like when wet without paint ^^
The one above and below are my final pieces of Mr.7 Mick Thomson

Mould/Clay models

The Terracotta clay was used to make a mould out of latex - so we can make assets for the game. The air drying clay was used make a model and paint over it.
The painting process of the air drying clay was first to paint a base coat (if you’re doing a dark colour –black – it was best to use a light colour like white) then we painted the clay a colour we Wanted our Models to be Coloured. I used grey blending it from dark to light.
Using a base coat helped because it stopped the clay from being dusty and the colour we wanted to use being sucked into the clay. The dry finish of the acrylic paint is that it’s shiny and has a nice shiny affect.
You blend paint by having it wet and mixing the colours evenly so it’s not just going from black to white it goes black dark grey, grey, light grey, white. Mick Thomson’s mask had an old-ish rusty effect so to make that I just dabbed the brush around the areas where it looked old
